Louisiana Woman Invited by BP to Hear Their Side of the Gulf Oil-Spill Cleanup Story Blows the Whistle!

A south Lousiana mother of two was selected from among the questioners at a town-hall meeting to be given insider clearance by BP to see what has been going on in the Gulf of Mexico since the blowout of BP's DeepWater Horizon oil well. Well, BP -- and the U.S. Coast Guard(!) -- explained that they both provide respirators and manditory respirator training whenever needed ...but that neither was needed in the Gulf because everything "is O.K." there.  Asked why 7 workers were evacuated with health problems, the BP rep cited food poisoning and heat exhaustion.  Next asked about the 9/11 first responders' dust-related health problems, this bozo actually claimed that BP was "Johnny on the spot" offering them respirators, but the firemen refused their offer(!!!).  She learned that BP uses the phrase "ponies and balloons" to mean deploying safety assets only when an official visits, and then standing-down 80% of these assets when the official leaves. She alleges BP have used influence to systematically pull footage from FOX News and Australia's 60 minutes.  And what's more she's a terrific speaker!

We know government doesn't care. We go on hoping that we won't be the next victims of corporate pollution, but it is already in our food, our water, our air, our household furnishings, everywhere.

To try to curb toxic pollution would be, according to our corporate run government, terrorism, as it would interfere with the profits of corporations.

Capitalism puts profits before people. It isn't BP, this particular catastrophe, or this particular administration, it is the capitalist system that puts profits before people.

In order for corporations to make profits, they have to destroy the planet. When our "technology" takes natural resources and turns them into shiny gadgets, it is turning a living earth into a toxic hell. Those processed foods and high-tech gadgets are toxic. And when we get sick, they sell us expensive "cures" that kill more people than the diseases they're supposed to treat.

Fidel Castro, despite his failing health, went on TV recently and one of the things he said was that the United States doesn't play clean and you can't believe its lies. Here's a man our government attempted to assassinate hundreds of times because he committed the great sin of proving free health care for the Cuban people and for millions of poor people all over the world. That's terrorism, according to the U.S. government, because it interferes with corporate profits.

One day soon the American people who are so in love with their cars are going to find out, as more and more foodstuffs become either toxic or unaffordable, that, to paraphrase the old Cree Prophecy, you can't drink gasoline and you can't eat automobiles.

Cree Prophecy:

Only after the last tree has been cut down,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only after the last river has been poisoned,
Only then will you find money cannot be eaten

98% of our old growth forests have already been cut down. The last edible fish in the Gulf have already been caught, and the last rivers are being poisoned.

If we had any common sense at all, mobs of us would be surrounding every elected official, every corporate executive, and every defender of capitalism we can find, and shoving dollar bills down their throats until they're dead, in hopes that by ending predatory capitalisnm maybe at least a few of our children and grandchildren might live.
